Keon Narine, a 22-year-old electrician from Agricola, East Bank Demerara, found himself in police custody on Monday for allegedly firing a weapon at the residence of a man associated with his brother’s murder. This incident occurred on the same day that his brother, Nocholas Narine, was reportedly killed by Raphael Bollers, the son of 60-year-old carpenter Gideon Bollers.
According to reports from Police Headquarters, Keon arrived on Brutus Street on a motorcycle, firearm in hand, and fired multiple shots at Gideon Bollers’ home. Luckily, no injuries were reported in the incident. Following the shooting, Keon managed to flee the scene.
Law enforcement later located Keon at his home where he was arrested. A search revealed an AR-15 rifle and a magazine loaded with five live rounds in his bedroom. Upon arrest, he was informed of the charges against him and transported to the Ruimveldt Police Station, along with the weapons.
During interrogation, Keon admitted to targeting the Bollers’ residence in retaliation for his brother’s death, claiming the firearm belonged to Nocholas. Meanwhile, detectives recovered eighteen spent casings from the crime scene. Keon Narine remains in custody as the investigation continues.
