An individual closely associated with the primary suspect of a car bombing near a Palm Springs fertility clinic has been apprehended, according to Fox News reports. The suspect, 32-year-old Daniel Park, was detained at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York, facing allegations of providing material support for terrorism.
Parks is accused of supplying Guy Edward Bartkus with components necessary for constructing explosives, with the last package allegedly sent shortly before the bombing occurred. U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli reported that Park spent significant time at Bartkus’s residence in Southern California, where the FBI later discovered chemical precursors and lab equipment linked to the bombing.
Following the explosion, Park reportedly traveled to Poland, where he was arrested on May 30 and subsequently deported back to the U.S. A search of his Washington home revealed six packages of explosive materials, which investigators believe were intended for the California attack.
Attorney General Pam Bondi condemned the act, emphasizing the cruelty of targeting a facility designed to aid women and mothers, and expressed gratitude to Polish authorities for assisting in his arrest. Earlier, Bartkus was identified as the bombing’s perpetrator, which left four injured and resulted in his own death. Both men reportedly targeted the clinic due to extremist beliefs linked to a ‘pro-mortalism’ ideology.
