
Paul Mahabal, a 33-year-old entrepreneur from Montrose, East Coast Demerara, has been granted bail of $100,000 following a tragic hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of 16-year-old Kimberley Jones in Bel Air Village, West Coast Berbice.
Recently, Mahabal made a second appearance at the Weldaad Magistrates Court, facing charges of neglecting to assist and failing to stop after the fatal accident on July 8, 2025.
He is also expected to face additional charges for causing death by dangerous driving, pending further legal advice on the matter. Mahabal’s next court date is set for August 8, 2025, where additional legal proceedings are anticipated.
Family members of Jones are actively seeking justice for the young victim of this unfortunate event.
