Bank of Guyana has issued a statement clarifying its advice to Azruddin Mohamed regarding his case against commercial banks.
The institution asserts that Mr. Mohamed misrepresented facts on social media, and the Governor’s advice was misinterpreted.
According to the Bank, the Governor suggested Mr. Mohamed withdraw his case and seek reevaluation of commercial banks’ money laundering/terrorist financing risks, a responsibility lying with the banks themselves.
The President’s office has also stated its focus on a national digitisation programme, while Ministerial announcements highlighted education and local development initiatives.
