
Authorities discovered the body of a 52-year-old man, Parsram Shivpersaud, in a drain located in Adelphi Village, East Canje, Berbice on Saturday morning. Shivpersaud, a resident of Lot 15 Adelphi Settlement and known for his struggles with alcohol, was last seen at his sister’s home prior to the incident.
Witnesses reported seeing him sitting on a bridge railing near his sister’s residence, smoking a cigarette around 7:20 PM on Friday, June 13. However, the following day, his brother-in-law found him unresponsive, face down in front of the same house at approximately 10:00 AM.
The local police have initiated an investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding his untimely death. As efforts continue to piece together the events leading to this tragic discovery, the community remains in shock over the incident.
