Mohamed Sabry Soliman, a 45-year-old man, is facing serious charges including murder, assault, and other offenses after a violent incident described as a “targeted terror attack” occurred during a pro-Israel event in Boulder, Colorado. According to the FBI, the attack on a gathering advocating for the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas resulted in injuries to eight individuals, one of whom is in critical condition.
Reports indicate that Soliman acted aggressively on Sunday, June 1, allegedly using incendiary methods against attendees before being apprehended by police. Alongside the murder charges, he is also accused of committing crimes against vulnerable adults and using explosives during the incident. Notably, it has been revealed that Soliman was in the U.S. illegally.
FBI officials are treating the event as an act of “ideologically motivated violence.” Eyewitnesses reported that Soliman shouted “Free Palestine” during the attack, which occurred near the Boulder County courthouse on Pearl Street, where the grassroots organization known as the “Run for Their Lives” was meeting to advocate for the hostages.
Authorities confirmed there have been no fatalities associated with the shocking incident. As of now, Soliman remains in custody at Boulder County Jail, with his bond set at $10 million. Investigations by the FBI and local law enforcement are ongoing.
