The Woods WeHo, a cannabis dispensary and lounge co-founded by actors Woody Harrelson and Bill Maher, suffered a break-in on the early morning of May 17th. Surveillance footage revealed five masked individuals smashing through the store’s glass entrance in West Hollywood, California. The burglars made off with approximately $2,000 to $3,000 worth of merchandise, as confirmed by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Elliot Lewis, CEO of Catalyst Cannabis, expressed frustration on social media regarding the incident. He emphasized the need for common sense in the community, stating, “Does nobody care about the people trying to build something up?”
Interestingly, the same group targeted another dispensary, ERBA Markets, the following night. An armed security guard intervened, firing shots at the suspects, who subsequently fled without any loot.
Lewis commented on the increasing lawlessness, urging for better policies to deter such criminal behavior, saying, “Somebody is going to get hurt. Somebody is going to get killed. Letβs get some common sense and bring back some deterrents.” Both incidents are under investigation by local authorities, but the suspects remain unidentified as of now. Up to this point, neither Harrelson nor Maher has spoken publicly about the break-ins.
