In a heartfelt demand for justice for 11-year-old Adriana Younge, Opposition Leader Aubrey Norton spearheaded a tranquil protest outside State House today. This demonstration coincides with the one-month anniversary of Younge’s tragic death, which was discovered in a swimming pool at the Double Day Hotel in Tuschen.
A post-mortem examination concluded that Younge drowned, yet her family is pressing for further investigations, including a second autopsy. Concerned about the pace of the inquiry, Norton expressed dissatisfaction with the current efforts, emphasizing a perceived lack of transparency from law enforcement.
“The police don’t operate within a legal framework and it seems like they want this matter to be forgotten, often protecting those in power rather than pursuing justice,” Norton remarked to the media.
He raised questions regarding the government’s hesitance to authorize the family’s request for an independent second autopsy, especially after the first was conducted by three international pathologists at Georgetown Public Hospital. Norton insisted that if the government had nothing to conceal, they should not obstruct this crucial process.
As the family of Adriana Younge waits for clarity and justice, the little girl has yet to be laid to rest.
