The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) will hold its 32nd Annual Meetings (AAM2025) in Abuja, Nigeria, from June 25 to 27, 2025, bringing together a strong delegation of global, African, and Caribbean leaders for a pivotal trade and development conference.
Heads of State, Prime Ministers, central bank governors, and industry leaders from Africa and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) are set to attend, underlining the strengthening economic relationship between the two regions. Notable Caribbean participants include former Jamaican Prime Minister P.J. Patterson, among an impressive roster of economists and business figures.
The theme of AAM2025, “Building the Future on Decades of Resilience,” reflects the urgency to enhance trade and development. Key discussions will tackle strategies for boosting intra-African and Africa-CARICOM trade, facilitating investments, and fostering innovation in uncertain global times.
Nigerian President H.E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu will lead the event, alongside other dignitaries like former President H.E. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. Afreximbank’s President, Professor Benedict Oramah, emphasized the event’s significance in advancing trade integration despite global challenges.
AAM2025 is anticipated to culminate in significant trade agreements and MoUs, potentially unlocking billions for future developments while fostering cooperation between Africa and CARICOM in various sectors, including tourism and transport. With over 80 countries represented, the event is set to drive crucial discussions and policy reforms aimed at inclusive growth across the Global South.
