The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) recently hosted its annual Regional Kilo Walk, bringing together government officials, youth leaders, NGOs, private sector groups, and community advocates to promote sustainable energy practices, healthy lifestyles, and climate-smart living.
The event, which took place on a crisp Saturday morning, aimed to raise awareness about renewable energy and its benefits for the region. The 2025 theme, "Empowering a Sustainable Future: Harnessing Renewable Energy Potential", underscored the shared responsibility of regional leaders and citizens in transforming the Caribbean Community’s energy systems.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of collective action in promoting sustainable development and reducing carbon emissions. He highlighted the need for collaboration among all sectors of society to address the challenge of climate change and promote eco-conscious developments in the region.
As energy month comes to a close, the government remains committed to supporting regional initiatives aimed at transforming the energy landscape and securing a cleaner, greener Caribbean Community.
