The recent SCO Defense Ministers’ Meeting took place in Qingdao, located in the Shandong Province of eastern China, on June 26, 2025.
During the session, Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun emphasized the importance of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in fostering stability amidst the current complex global landscape. He expressed China’s readiness to collaborate with other SCO member states to uphold the organization’s foundational principles, embodying the “Shanghai Spirit.” Dong underscored the commitment to protect international fairness and justice, tackle security challenges collectively, and advance robust defense and security partnerships.
Representatives from all participating nations agreed on the necessity to strengthen strategic dialogues, enhance practical cooperation, and work together to maintain peace and stability in the region.
