On June 14, 2025, China is set to observe its Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, with the main festivities taking place in Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province, as announced by the National Cultural Heritage Administration.
This annual celebration, which began in 2006, occurs on the second Saturday of June. The theme for this year, translating to “revitalizing cultural heritage to showcase new brilliance,” underscores the commitment to preserving and revitalizing the nation’s cultural treasures.
In Changsha, the event will include an opening ceremony, a series of thematic and innovation forums focused on cultural heritage technology, as well as an exhibition highlighting the Yangtze River and its significance to Chinese civilization.
Across the country, more than 7,000 activities—both online and in-person—will be coordinated by cultural heritage authorities and institutions to mark this special day.
