The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Southern Theater Command executed a coordinated air and sea patrol in the South China Sea on Saturday, as reported by a PLA spokesperson on Sunday. This mission reflects the military’s commitment to remain vigilant against any activities perceived as destabilizing within the region.
Spokesperson Tian Junli expressed concerns regarding recent efforts by the Philippines to engage external nations in what he termed “joint patrols.” He warned that such actions could escalate security risks and disrupt the overall peace and stability of the region.
Tian emphasized that all military operations intending to provoke tensions or create potential conflict points are closely monitored and controlled by the PLA.
