A Colorado woman accused of murdering her two young children during a custody dispute has been extradited to the United States from the United Kingdom, where she was found and arrested on December 30, 2023.
Kimberlee Singler, 37, is facing multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree murder. She had initially told police that another person had committed the violent acts, but her daughter later changed her story.
Singler’s extradition from the UK was approved by a judge in January 2025, and she was denied an appeal last month. Her attorney argued against extradition due to concerns about mandatory life imprisonment without parole in Colorado, which would violate European human rights law.
Colorado authorities confirmed that Singler will make her first court appearance soon on the charges against her.
The case has left many shocked and heartbroken, with the police chief describing it as an ‘unthinkable’ act. The extradition of Singler marks a significant milestone in the investigation, which is ongoing.
