During the launch of the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) campaign for the 2025 elections, Susan Rodrigues, the Minister within the Ministry of Housing and Water, expressed her concerns about the opposition’s plans, likening them to “child’s play.” She emphasized that there is no government plan as effective as that of the PPP/C.
Reflecting on the past five years, she highlighted the significant advancements made under the PPP/C’s leadership, including the distribution of over 50,000 house lots, with more than half allocated to young homeowners. Rodrigues asserted that the PPP/C’s established experience and accomplishments empower them to continue building the nation.
She critically remarked that the opposition’s proposals would only perpetuate poverty among the populace, insisting, “They are playing ‘dolly house’ with your future, and we must put an end to it. This party takes its responsibilities seriously.” Rodrigues reaffirmed the commitment of the PPP/C to ensure that every Guyanese has access to their own home, aiming to solidify this promise in the upcoming elections on September 1, 2025.
