In a recent enforcement action, federal agents apprehended 36 individuals from China and Taiwan during a raid on an underground nightclub in Southern California. The operation was executed by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Los Angeles early in the morning on May 30, 2025.
A video shared by ICE on social media depicts the scene, showing agents conducting the raid at night and later footage of the apprehended individuals sitting on a sidewalk awaiting transport in white vans.
ICE has not disclosed the name or location of the nightclub involved in the raid, nor have any additional details regarding the arrests been provided despite inquiries from news outlets.
As part of a broader push to enhance enforcement efforts, ICE announced a leadership change, with Ken Genalo, currently the Acting Executive Associate Director of Enforcement and Removal Operations, set to retire after a 33-year tenure. ICE Acting Director Todd M. Lyons commended Genalo for his service and contributions to the agency during this transition.
This operation aligns with the ongoing efforts by federal immigration authorities to address illegal immigration within the United States.
