
Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) has officially declared Dr Irfaan Ali the winner of the recent presidential election.
The People’s Progressive Party/Civic secured a landslide victory, securing 36 seats in the National Assembly and garnering over 242,000 votes.
The newcomer We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) also made a significant impact, winning 16 seats and receiving over 109,000 votes.
Other parties such as the Forward Guyana Movement (FGM) secured one seat and over 2,000 votes.
GECOM officials gathered to declare the results of the September 1 polls, marking a significant milestone in Guyanese democracy.
The newly elected president-elect Dr Irfaan Ali will now serve a second term in government, building upon his previous achievements.
