
The 2023 champions, Eccles All-Stars, along with 2024 semifinalists Diamond Gunners and The Guard, have successfully made their way into the semi-finals of the East Bank/West Demerara zone during the third installment of the Kares One Guyana T10 Tapeball Blast.
Despite initial delays due to weather, Monday saw an exciting series of quarter-finals at three locations: Laluni, Police Sports Club, and Meten-Meer-Zorg Ground. The concluding quarter-final will see Young Steppaz challenge Trensetters for the last spot, where they will meet Eccles.
In one of the quarter-finals, The Guard triumphed over CJIA Warriors by five wickets, successfully chasing a challenging target of 156 in just 9.1 overs due to Kevon Boddie’s explosive 65 off 21 balls.
Meanwhile, Diamond Gunners decisively defeated Laluni, wrapping up their match at 73-1 in just 4.3 overs, driven by Andrew Lim’s brisk 54 off 14 deliveries.
Eccles showcased exceptional form, chasing a target of 105 against Young Guns without losing a wicket, thanks to Quazim Yusuf’s remarkable knock of 70 runs.
The day’s standout performance came from Ganesh Puran, who scored a phenomenal 116 runs for Young Steppaz, leading them to a 30-run victory. The Kares One Guyana T10 Tapeball Blast will progress to the Georgetown/East Coast Zone on July 19 and 20, with the grand finals set for August 3. Admission is free for all matches.
