Three lesser-known political entities have aligned themselves with the coalition led by the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR), known as the A Partnership for National Unity (APNU).
The newly added parties are the Legalize Cannabis movement, A Movement for Improvement, and the Kingdom Liberation Movement, though details about their leadership remain scarce. APNU emphasized in a recent Facebook announcement that this development underscores their steadfast dedication to forming a coalition reflective of the diverse aspirations of the nation. The coalition aims to bolster a shared vision focused on unity, progress, and inclusive governance.
APNU, primarily led by the PNCR, also includes other smaller parties like the Working People’s Alliance (WPA), Guyana Action Party (GAP), and the National Front Alliance (NFA). Recently, APNU has endeavored to rekindle its partnership with the Alliance For Change (AFC) in preparation for the upcoming 2025 elections. In 2015, a previously formed APNU+AFC coalition successfully took power.
While APNU leaders express interest in pursuing coalition discussions, AFC spokesperson Nigel has indicated a move beyond that collaboration.
