A family living at Lot 67 Durban Street in Wortmanville, Georgetown, is urgently requesting help following a series of harassment incidents. Nalini Rampersaud, who resides with her daughter, reported recent thefts and concerns over their safety.
In the past few days, the family’s anxiety has escalated due to repeated intrusions. On Thursday morning, three masked men broke into their yard, locked them inside their home, and stole parts from one of their motorcycles. The family was eventually able to escape and later reported the incident to the Alberttown Police Station, who assured them that an investigation would follow.
However, the situation worsened early Saturday when an unknown individual attempted to break the new lock on their gate. Thanks to an alarm system, the intruder was scared off, but soon after, two men returned and managed to break the lock again; fortunately, nothing was stolen this time. This incident has been formally reported to the police.
Rampersaud expressed that such harassment is not new for their family, recalling an incident in February when a man attempted to climb over their fence. Feeling increasingly vulnerable, she calls on law enforcement to take action to ensure their safety and apprehend the culprits.
