In a surprising turn of events, Azruddin Mohamed’s ambitions for the presidency of Guyana have been publicly criticized by his uncles, Mohamed Yusuf and Mohamed Haseeb Yusuf, who state he lacks the necessary qualifications and insight to lead the nation. They have endorsed President Dr. Irfaan Ali for a second term, praising his capability to advance the country.
According to Mohamed Yusuf, Azruddin is politically inexperienced and has mismanaged his father’s charitable legacy, transforming it into what he calls a “political circus” to promote his own self-interest. Yusuf emphasizes that if his nephew had the leadership qualities required for governance, he would have readily supported him. Instead, he describes Azruddin and his sister, Hannah, as narcissistic individuals lacking genuine concern for the public.
Yusuf encourages voters to disregard Azruddin’s political pursuits, expressing strong backing for President Ali. He implores the citizens of Guyana to invest their future in a capable leader like Ali rather than gamble it on untested candidates.
Similarly, Haseeb Yusuf, a former leader of the Guyana Islamic Trust, has also voiced his support for President Ali. He asserts that after careful consideration of all candidates, only President Ali possesses the qualifications, vision, and integrity needed to guide the nation into a new developmental era.
As the elections approach, the Yusuf brothers’ endorsements signal a critical perspective on Azruddin’s quest for power.
