A tragic incident involving a young boy has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving many questioning the actions of the individual responsible.
Ramsarran Samaroo, 22, has been remanded to prison in connection with the fatal hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of 8-year-old Sahil Naipaul. The incident occurred on August 5, 2025, when Samaroo allegedly drove his motorcar recklessly, leading to Naipaul’s death.
Samaroo has also been charged with failing to stop his vehicle after the accident and failing to render assistance to the injured Naipaul. He pleaded not guilty to these two charges.
As the investigation continues, questions remain about the circumstances surrounding the incident. The family of the young boy has expressed frustration with the settlement agreement that was supposedly reached between Samaroo’s family and Naipaul’s relatives. However, Sahil’s relatives have denied any discussions regarding a settlement.
The case has been transferred to the Springlands Magistrate’s Court, where Samaroo is scheduled to make his next court appearance on September 4.
Our thoughts are with the family of the young boy who lost their lives in this senseless tragedy. The community comes together to demand justice and accountability for such heinous crimes.
