Authorities in New Orleans have apprehended five additional individuals in connection with a recent prison escape, bringing the total number of arrests to twelve. Fox News reports that the latest arrests included Lenika Vanburen, 18-year-old Patricia Vanburen, 27-year-old Tyshanea “Minnie” Randolph, 47-year-old Lenton Vanburen Sr., and 40-year-old Angel McKey. Notably, Lenton Vanburen Sr. is the father of one of the escaped inmates, Lenton Vanburen Jr.
Law enforcement executed a search warrant at a residence in the 7th District of New Orleans looking for the fugitive Vanburen, but he was not located. Authorities confirmed that ten inmates had escaped from the Orleans Parish Jail, and as of Sunday, five remain at large.
Prior to these arrests, police detained Emmitt Weber, who allegedly helped two inmates following the jailbreak. The most recent arrest occurred after Corey Boyd was taken into custody on Tuesday, while several others involved in the escape have also faced legal actions.
The public has been cautioned that the remaining fugitives are considered armed and dangerous as authorities continue their search.
