The gas station bombing case, which resulted in the tragic death of a six-year-old girl and injured several others, has been adjourned to December 3, 2025. The prosecutor made a partial disclosure of statements, leaving some key details under wraps for now.
Four Venezuelan nationals and three Guyanese were remanded to prison in connection with the deadly explosion at the Mobil fuel station in Georgetown. The alleged mastermind, Daniel Alexander Ramirez Poedemo, was charged separately with terrorism, alleging that he placed and detonated an explosive device with the intent to threaten Guyana’s security and sovereignty.
Initial investigations revealed that Poedemo arrived in the country carrying the explosive device, which was used in the attack. Surveillance footage captured him walking into the gas station compound with two bulky black plastic bags before the explosion ripped through the area.
