As the nation gears up for the pivotal 2025 General and Regional Elections, the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) has announced that all necessary arrangements for Nomination Day are complete. The event is scheduled for Monday, July 14, at the historic Umana Yana in Kingston, Georgetown.
Running from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the day will mark the official submission of candidate lists by political parties aiming to participate in the elections set for September 1. GECOM emphasizes a commitment to ensuring the process is seamless, transparent, and adheres to electoral laws.
All participating parties must submit their candidate lists within the designated timeframe. The Chief Election Officer will be on hand to accept submissions, confirm documentation, and resolve any questions that may arise. Upon successful submission of the nomination packages, an acknowledgment will be issued.
GECOM urges all parties, their supporters, and stakeholders to abide by established protocols and honor the democratic process throughout the day. The Commission is dedicated to fostering a calm and respected environment during Nomination Day.
Media representatives are invited to cover the event as part of GECOM’s ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability.
