ExxonMobil Guyana Limited and its partners have reached a significant milestone in oil production, achieving an average daily output of 900,000 barrels.
This achievement comes on the heels of the successful startup of Yellowtail, Guyana’s fourth offshore project, which has now reached its initial annual average production capacity of 250,000 barrels per day.
The combined performance of Liza Phase 1, Liza Phase 2, and Payara assets has contributed to this milestone, with ExxonMobil President Alistair Routledge praising the collaboration between the company and the Government of Guyana, as well as its co-venturers and employees.
The Stabroek block holds seven government-sanctioned projects worth over $60 billion, with Uaru and Whiptail projects expected to produce 250,000 barrels per day each, starting in 2026 and 2027 respectively.
Hammerhead, the seventh project, is expected to add 150,000 barrels per day when production begins in 2029. An eighth project, Longtail, is currently undergoing regulatory reviews and is expected to boost total production capacity to 1.7 million barrels per day.
