
A traveler hailing from Guyana was apprehended at Toronto Pearson International Airport with approximately 3.5 kilograms (or 7.7 pounds) of cocaine cleverly concealed within multiple pairs of shoes.
The illicit drugs hold an estimated value of CA$ 437,000, which is around G$66.8 million.
According to a statement released via social media by the Canada Border Services Agency, the seized drugs, along with the individual, were handed over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Ontario.
This incident underscores ongoing challenges in combating drug trafficking at international borders.
