The Caribbean Development Bank has loaned Guyana US$7 million for the construction of a state-of-the-art Hospitality Training Institute at Port Mourant. The 200-seat facility is expected to be completed by June 2026 and will offer Caribbean Vocational Qualifications in various fields such as mixology, cosmetology, and more. The project aims to provide Guyanese with the skills needed to thrive in the rapidly growing tourism industry.
The Tourism and Hospitality Association of Guyana and its counterpart, Suriname Hospitality and Tourism Association, are collaborating on the initiative. With the increasing demand for skilled workers in the sector, this institute is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Guyanese hospitality.
