
Zeynul Ramsammy and Seon Hetmyer showcased their batting prowess as they led Sip & Play Warriors to an impressive victory, securing a place in the finals of the Berbice zone during the Kares One Guyana T10 Tapeball Blast. Ramsammy dazzled with a stunning 89 runs off just 24 balls, including nine sixes and three fours, while Hetmyer, brother of Shimron Hetmyer, finished with an unbeaten 82 runs (10 sixes, 2 fours) off 25 balls. Together, they propelled Sip & Play to a remarkable total of 209-3, marking the highest score in the tournament’s history.
In reply, The Organisation managed only 98-5 in their ten overs at Port Mourant Community Centre Ground, paving the way for Sip & Play to await the winner of the Montra Jaguars and Name Brand Titans matchup for the semi-finals.
Montra Jaguars triumphed over the younger New Amsterdam side, chasing a target of 76 runs in 6.4 overs, led by Sachin Singh (27*) and Jonathon Foo (20). Name Brand Titans also progressed by defeating Tucber Park by 15 runs, having scored 115-5.
Due to rain, only two out of five planned matches in the round-of-16 were completed, with The Organisation and Corriverton Spartans both claiming victories. The remaining fixtures include Ethan XI versus Line Path Select XI and Team Legacy against Cotton Tree Die Hard.
The final is set to take place on Sunday at 15:30h at Port Mourant, with the zone champion receiving $300,000 and a spot in the national playoffs scheduled for August 3 at the National Stadium.
