Israeli Official Highlights Radicalism as a National Concern for the U.S.

The Deputy Consul General of Israel in New York, Tsach Saar, has issued a stark warning to the United States in light of a tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of two Israeli Embassy staffers in Washington, D.C. He emphasizes that radicalism transcends national boundaries and impacts all American citizens. “This is not just an issue for Jews and Israelis, but for every American,” Saar stated, referring to individuals who incite violence and promote antisemitic rhetoric. Such actions threaten the very foundations of American democracy.

Saar specifically addressed the rising slogan “globalize the Intifada,” which has gained traction among anti-Israel demonstrators. He interpreted this phrase as an appeal to extend violence beyond the Middle East, making recent acts of violence on U.S. soil a pressing national issue.

In the aftermath of the shooting, in which the suspect was heard chanting “free, free Palestine,” discussions surrounding the rhetoric used at protests have surged. College campuses, particularly Columbia University, have become focal points for these debates, as students expressing pro-Israel views report feeling unsafe.

Despite the risks, Saar advocates for standing firm in one’s identity rather than retreating, asserting that it’s imperative to confront and legally oppose those using falsehoods to spur violence.
