The People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) is responding to claims made by former member and Opposition Parliamentarian, Amanza Walton-Desir, following her unexpected resignation. The party seeks to clarify her assertion that no tangible offer was extended regarding her involvement in the upcoming September 1 General and Regional Elections.
In a public statement released today, the PNCR asserted that Walton-Desir was not only assured a place in Parliament but was also invited to join the campaign’s management team during a meeting with Opposition Leader, Aubrey Norton, on June 7. The party indicated that Walton-Desir expressed a need to confer with her team before providing feedback but ultimately chose to submit her resignation without further communication.
The PNCR emphasized that Walton-Desir’s claims about the absence of an offer are a significant misrepresentation of the truth. To address this distortion, the party felt it necessary to issue this clarification, aiming to rectify misconceptions stemming from her resignation letter.
