The Tourism and Hospitality Association of Guyana (THAG) recently held its 32nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 27, 2025, at the Herdmanston Lodge Hotel, where Mr. Mitra Ramkumar, Finance Director of the Roraima Group of Companies, was elected as the new President.
Supporting Mr. Ramkumar in his leadership role will be Vice President Carla Vantull, the General Manager of Wilderness Explorers, and Treasurer Lorenzo Persaud, the Business Development Manager at Ansa Motors Guyana Inc. Other committee members include Abigail Ally from Bimichi Eco Resort and Malcom Rhodius from 592 Tours.
In his address, Mr. Ramkumar expressed his dedication to building upon the progress made by the prior board. He emphasized his commitment to advancing THAG’s mission and striving for new achievements in promoting Guyana’s tourism sector.
THAG plays a critical role as a non-profit entity that advocates for the tourism and hospitality industry in Guyana. It serves as a united voice for industry stakeholders, pushing for sustainable policies and initiatives that bolster tourism growth and enhance visitor experiences.
