Virginia authorities are actively investigating the case of 21-year-old sailor Angelina Petra Resendiz, who was last seen at her barracks in Norfolk on May 29. Her last sighting occurred around 10 p.m. at Miller Hall at Naval Station Norfolk, with law enforcement characterizing her disappearance as critical due to health concerns.
Resendiz’s mother, Esmeralda Castle, who resides in Texas, described her daughter as “loving” and “kind.” She expressed disbelief at the sudden silence from her daughter, noting that they had maintained a consistent communication streak on Snapchat for over 400 days. “Her communication is usually constant—she either speaks with family or friends daily,” Castle stated.
Without a means of transportation, Resendiz was reported missing after she failed to attend work. “It feels as if she just ceased to exist Thursday. She hasn’t spent any money or made contact,” Castle said, revealing her heartache over the situation. Resendiz is identified as a Hispanic female, 5 ft. 5 in. tall, weighing 110 lbs, with brown eyes and black hair.
Authorities are urgently seeking public assistance with information regarding her whereabouts and can be contacted at (877) 579-3648. This alarming situation continues to unfold, with family members holding onto hope for her safe return.
