Federal immigration officials conducted operations over Memorial Day weekend, apprehending several individuals across various U.S. cities, as per reports from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
On Saturday, ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) agents in locations including Boston, Denver, and New York City facilitated these arrests. Among those apprehended was Kevin Estuarde Hernandez, an 18-year-old from Guatemala implicated in gang activities and already facing serious allegations in Massachusetts.
Additionally, Jose Antonio Deras, a 45-year-old from El Salvador, was taken into custody in Denver after having been previously denied temporary protected status and with ongoing serious legal challenges. Other arrests included Misael Delgado-Carlos and Eduardo Sanchez-Hernandez, both from Mexico, each with histories of criminal activities ranging from assault to sexual offenses.
ICE also captured Litzy Janel Saavedra, who boasts a conviction for rape, and Jose Barrios-Bello, previously sentenced for drug distribution. Carlos Torres Valdovinos, another apprehended individual, was reported to have been removed to Mexico shortly after his arrest. The majority of those detained will remain in custody as they await their removal proceedings.
This operation reflects ongoing efforts by immigration authorities to enforce legal standards across the nation.
