
Minister of Education Priya Manickchand recently conducted a site visit to Region One (Barima-Waini), where she received an update on the progress of Waramari Secondary School, which is nearing completion.
The Minister expressed her excitement about the upcoming school commissioning, stating that it will provide access to secondary education for several communities in the region.
Additionally, the Deputy Chief Education Officer, Marti DeSouza, announced plans for a new secondary school to be built in Manawarin Village, which will benefit residents and provide opportunities for their children.
The new school is part of a larger initiative to improve educational infrastructure in Region One, with several other schools already under construction or completed. The Government has also launched National Literacy Programmes to support its education goals.
Furthermore, six young Guyanese have been awarded Chinese Government Scholarships to pursue studies in the medical field.
