During a spirited speech at the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) rally in Albion, Region Six, Prime Minister Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips addressed an enthusiastic audience, reaffirming the government’s achievements and urging caution against political risks.
“Now is not the time for uncertainty,” he stated, referencing opposition figures like businessman Azruddin Mohamed, who has faced criticism for a lack of a clear development agenda. “You’ve experienced five years of robust leadership under President Dr. Irfaan Ali. Do you really want to take that risk?” he implored.
Prime Minister Phillips pledged the PPP/C’s dedication to continued advancement, declaring, “We will get it done for you.” His focus was on delivering tangible benefits for all Guyanese, emphasizing the government’s efforts in easing living costs, enhancing old-age pensions, and increasing the ‘Because We Care’ cash grant for schoolchildren.
He characterized the PPP/C as a visionary government committed to fostering prosperity in Guyana. With a strong sense of national support and a proven track record, he stressed that the party is more united than ever.
As the nation prepares for upcoming elections on September 1, Prime Minister Phillips encouraged his supporters to remain loyal to the PPP/C’s development agenda.
