
The charges against Alan Jones, a prominent Australian radio host and former rugby coach, have been reduced in a court hearing on Thursday.
Alan Jones now faces 27 allegations of indecent assault or groping nine men over two decades. The most serious charges have been downgraded from aggravated indecent assault to standard indecent assault, while some charges were dropped altogether.
The influential 84-year-old media figure has denied all charges and the case will be heard by a magistrate instead of a jury. Two alleged victims withdrew from the case without explanation, leading to a reformation of the allegations.
