
A black box has been recovered from the site of the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, as confirmed by India’s civil aviation minister on Friday. The flight data recorder was retrieved within 28 hours by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), marking a crucial advancement in the ongoing investigation, which is supported by teams from the US and UK.
The tragic accident occurred shortly after take-off, resulting in the loss of 241 lives, with only one survivor. Among those on board were passengers from various nationalities, including Indian, British, Portuguese, and Canadian. The plane crashed into a residential neighborhood, causing additional fatalities on the ground. Reports indicate at least eight people not aboard the flight also died due to the impact.

As identification efforts proceed using DNA from relatives, emotions run high.
