
According to Bradenton police, a recent shooting and crash were triggered by road rage on Monday afternoon.
At approximately 3:20 p.m., an altercation initiated when the driver of a Jeep Compass, Raesean Poole, confronted Anthony Williams, the driver of a Buick sedan, about failing to use a turn signal while entering a parking lot. The confrontation escalated after Williams, accompanied by a teenage passenger, exited his vehicle. Poole claimed that during the exchange, Williams brandished a firearm. Video footage shows Poole making several attempts to leave before he ultimately drove his Jeep towards Williams, colliding with him and striking a stop sign and a tree.
The passenger in the Buick, 16-year-old Manuel Villatoro, then retrieved a gun and shot at Poole’s Jeep. Police arrived shortly after and detained all three individuals involved.
Poole, 33, now faces charges of aggravated battery with a motor vehicle, while Williams, 20, is pending charges and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Villatoro has also been charged with aggravated assault with a firearm. The investigation remains ongoing.
This incident sheds light on the dangers of road rage as it escalated into a violent confrontation.
