Dubai Capitals set a solid total of 165-7, thanks mainly to an outstanding performance by Shakib Al Hasan, who scored an unbeaten 58 off 37 balls, featuring seven fours and one six. Sediqullah Atal also contributed with a brisk 41 runs.
Central Stags struggled in their chase, concluding their innings at 143-8. Shakib’s brilliance extended to the bowling department, where he took four wickets for just 13 runs, effectively derailing the Stags’ pursuit. Captain Tom Bruce briefly held the innings together with a score of 34, but tight bowling from Dubai restricted the Stags’ scoring opportunities.
While Angus Schaw excelled for the Stags with three wickets, the Dubai Capitals maintained composure to secure their victory, showcasing a well-rounded team effort. Khuzaima Tanveer, in particular, provided a thrilling finish by taking consecutive wickets in the final over. Despite the drama, the Capitals ultimately claimed the win, making a strong statement as they topped the GSL table early in the tournament.
