
The People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) is set to extend its ambitious infrastructure development program, allocating an additional $10 billion for community roads in Region Ten.
During an engagement with nearly 700 small contractors at the Watooka Guest House, Vice President Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo emphasized the potential of this investment to enhance community growth and create jobs in the region.
This initiative, which spans the entire country, is part of the PPP/C administration’s efforts since regaining power in 2020, resulting in the construction of thousands of community roads nationwide.
Following this, Dr. Jagdeo reached out to over 1,000 local youths, urging them to seize the various empowerment opportunities available, including the GOAL Scholarship Programme.
The Vice President also elaborated on the government’s ongoing investments in health, education, and housing, highlighting the provision of numerous houselots and the fulfillment of manifesto commitments. He shared insights into the government’s projections for the next five years.
During the event, there were engaging discussions where he responded to concerns from attendees, and he took time to connect with different community groups. Additionally, as General Secretary of the PPP, he met with party officials and activists from Region Ten.
