Abby Choi Murder Trial Delayed Again Over Legal Issues
The murder trial of Hong Kong socialite Abby Choi Tin-fung has been postponed once more as the court addresses legal points raised by legal representatives in the high-profile case, with the nine-member jury scheduled to reconvene on Monday.
According to the South China Morning Post, the murder trial concerning Hong Kong socialite Abby Choi Tin-fung has experienced another delay while the court addresses legal matters brought forward by lawyers in the significant case. Deputy High Court Judge Brian Keith informed the nine-member jury on Friday that the proceedings would restart on Monday after the legal arguments had been concluded.
The delay specifically postponed the anticipated cross-examination of Choi’s mother, Cheung Yin-fa, by the counsel representing Choi’s ex-husband, Alex Kwong Kong-chi, which was scheduled for the fifth day of her testimony.
Alex Kwong Kong-chi is currently facing a joint murder charge alongside his father, Kwong Kau, who is 68, and his elder brother, Anthony Kwong Kong-kit, who is 35.
