This next-generation technology is currently in the early phases of commercialization, and the country is working to extend its existing global advantage in the battery industry from conventional lithium-ion batteries into emerging technologies.
According to a battery sector road map issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on Monday, China intends to speed up the commercialization of solid-state batteries. This effort involves lowering costs, enhancing battery performance and stability, and developing essential materials and manufacturing technologies.
The ministry stated that the new-type battery industry is at a crucial point for technological advancement over the next five years, emphasizing the necessity of capitalizing on strategic opportunities presented by industrial and technological innovation.
