Chinese Restaurant Owner Gifts New BMWs to Employees to Protect Them from Weather
Ma Yanli, the owner of a beef hotpot chain in central Henan province, China, has garnered significant online praise for presenting brand-new BMWs to her top employees to shield them from difficult weather during their electric bike commutes.
According to the South China Morning Post, Ma Yanli, who operates a beef hotpot chain based in Jiaozuo, central Henan province, has been widely admired online for giving brand-new BMWs to her highest-performing staff members. This gesture was reportedly motivated by her dislike of seeing employees endure harsh weather while commuting on electric bikes. Ma Yanli presented the new vehicles to some of her workers on September 24. Henan TV reported that Ma purchased the cars two weeks prior to the gifting, paying the full amount for each vehicle. Each BMW is valued at 300,000 yuan (US$45,000). Ma attributes the success of her company to the combined efforts of her employees, expressing her belief that they should share directly in the company's achievements.
