Donald Trump Proposes Turning Florida Golf Course into Presidential Retreat
The White House stated that Donald Trump intends to convert his upscale Florida golf course into a retreat for upcoming US presidents, similar to Camp David, at the Trump International Club in West Palm Beach.
According to the South China Morning Post, the White House announced Wednesday that Donald Trump desires to transform his upscale golf course in Florida into a sanctuary for future United States presidents, drawing inspiration from the historic Camp David retreat.
The proposal suggests that the Trump International Club, located in West Palm Beach, where the 80-year-old billionaire frequently spends weekends golfing, could become an official location for his successors.
A White House official, speaking anonymously, indicated that the United States government has requested an examination into establishing a presidential retreat at the Trump International Golf Course in Palm Beach. The stated purpose of such a retreat would be to allow future presidents to conduct significant meetings while utilizing the facilities of a premier property.
The official also emphasized the security measures at Trump's course, noting that gunman Ryan Routh was convicted of attempting to assassinate the then-presidential candidate at the location in September 2024.
