Esplanade Park Among 16 Sites Considered for Beautification Project
Kaieteur News reported that New Amsterdam’s Esplanade Park was one of 16 locations in Regions Five and Six identified for consideration under the next phase of the National Beautification Project. Mayor Wainwright McIntosh said First Lady Arya Ali committed to fulfilling his request for modernized park equipment. No. 63 Beach Recreational Space was separately described as among projects soon to launch.

The list includes New Amsterdam Esplanade Park, as well as No. 63 Beach Recreational Space. The latter was also identified among projects soon to be launched; the report does not say that all 16 locations are approved or will soon launch.
For the Esplanade, Mayor Wainwright McIntosh said Ali committed to fulfilling his request for modernized equipment. He said discussions also covered additional lighting and rehabilitation of the bandstand, cenotaph and other park areas, and that a team was subsequently coordinated to undertake tasks. The report does not describe those works as completed.
