European Broadcasters Receive Warnings Amid Wave of Hoax Bomb Threats

According to the South China Morning Post, warnings were sent via email to Irish broadcaster RTE, Britain’s Sky, Bulgarian private station Nova TV, and other entities. The companies stated that no bombs were discovered at any location that was affected. On RTE, programming was substituted with music and a pre-recorded message, with some instances lasting up to three hours. These alerts occur subsequent to a series of hoax bomb threats that have recently caused disruptions to passenger flights traveling from Serbia to Finland, Spain, and other destinations. These incidents have necessitated diversions, emergency landings, and security sweeps, although no explosives have been located as of the reporting.
