According to the South China Morning Post, the European Commission has introduced a revised strategy concerning the Arctic, a remote area that is becoming more accessible due to climate change and the rapid melting of ice, despite its wealth in resources.

European Union foreign affairs chief Kaja Kallas stated on Tuesday that the Arctic has transformed into a zone of global power competition as Russia and China increase their presence and ambitions.
