GucciCore Runway in New York Features Stars and Times Square Takeover
The South China Morning Post reported on Demna's GucciCore runway in New York, noting the attendance of celebrities like Mariah Carey and Shawn Mendes, alongside a pre-show display in Times Square and a specific invitation style.
According to the South China Morning Post, celebrities such as Mariah Carey and Shawn Mendes attended Demna’s GucciCore runway, which incorporated various styles of New York dressing, ranging from pinstripes to slouchy denim.
Prior to the presentation, Gucci utilized the screens in Times Square to display a montage of mock advertisements and found footage. These visuals covered concepts such as Gucci Automobili, Gucci Gym, Gucci Pets, and a fictional Palazzo Gucci hotel, presenting the brand as a lifestyle rather than merely a logo in a somewhat surreal manner.
The invitation for the show was presented as a brass key housed within an aged-leather sleeve, which referenced the Gucci Galleria, a private area accessible by key located above the brand's Fifth Avenue flagship store during the 1980s.
