Hong Kong Authorities Mandate Use of Authorized Transport at Huanggang Port
The Hong Kong government has stated that individuals traveling to and from the updated Huanggang Port must utilize only authorized public transportation options, which includes pre-arranged licensed taxi services, as other ride-hailing options will be unavailable within the boundary control area.
According to the South China Morning Post, the Hong Kong government has stipulated that both residents and travelers must use licensed taxi fleets, as other ride-hailing services will not be accessible inside the boundary control area.
Transport officials advised travelers that they must use only authorized public transport services, such as pre-booked licensed taxi fleets, when traveling to and from the renovated Huanggang Port.
During a press conference on Wednesday, transport officials also encouraged travelers not to rush to utilize the new port during its initial operational phase.
Five days before the anticipated opening of the Huanggang Port on Monday, the Transport Department provided details regarding the public transport arrangements linking the revamped Huanggang Port to various locations across Hong Kong.
Officials distributed maps detailing the port’s Public Transport Interchange and the designated pickup points for franchised buses, urban and New Territories cabs, reminding those intending to book ride-hailing services to exclusively use licensed taxi fleets.
